Hi Carylann and Deck,
"Deck, I'm just loving this fiddle!!!
The sound keeps coming in
beatifully.
The even, penetrating quality in the tone across the the
entire range of the instrument is rapidly being enhanced by a rich full
sweetness that makes the thing seem to play itself.
It's also very
loud, although that's more apparent to listeners than to the player
because of the evenness of the tone and complete absence of harshness.
It's extremely easy to play from the lowest note up to the highest
registers and to play very quietly without breathiness or string noise.
I get lots of compliments- I just played it on a contradance tour to
Philadelphia, Sheperdstown West Virginia, and Glen Echo near Washington
DC. The band kept commenting on how great it sounded."
"Loving this fiddle -- I am never going to have to buy another"

Mike, I'm so glad you had a good time checking out my fiddle. Here is
the e-mail address of Deck Nieforth, Luthier Fantastique.
He has a
bunch of fiddles you can try out and his house is pretty easy to get to, in Warwick.
Keep me posted, Kate

When it comes to great tone, volume, and clarity, you can't go wrong with one of Deck's fiddles. They sound great on stage and in the studio. They have a rich full sound without all the feedback that a lot of other fiddles have. I absolutely love mine!
But my favorite thing is ... how well it's set up and how easy it is to play.
Gracious ... plays like a dream!
